Looking for a builder, joiner or decorator local to your location? Mr Skill allows you to 'post a job' or simply browse the tradesmen directory to find a local tradesmen.

I'm a tradesman how do I search?

Using the 'post a job' feature you can post your job to 1000's of qualified local tradesmen. Tradesmen will then post quotes or ask you a question about the job before providing you with a competitive price.

Using our tradesmen directory, you can find qualified tradesmen. If your looking for a builder, joiner or decorater etc.. ( For example in London ) you can simply search for a builder London,Joiner London, Decorator London. Your search results will provide 100's of qualified tradesmen matched to your specific type of work, It's that easy.

Faq Question & Answer

Your job posting has been deleted?
Please remember that Mr-Skill reserves the right to delete any of the job postings. A non-exhaustive list of reasons that trigger a deletion are:

a. If your posting was too vague and did not contain sufficient information about the work that needs doing

b. If we consider your posting to be offensive or morally reprehensible

c. If duplicate postings have been made for the same job

d. If your job posting advertises services instead of requesting services.

e. If your posting is in breach of our Membership Agreement

If you believe one of your postings has been deleted without justification, please write an email to support using the "Contact us" link in the top right corner of our site.

Need advice on how to post a job?
Creating a job posting on Mr-Skill is incredibly quick and easy. Also, you won�t have to spend a ton of time flipping through the phone book to find tradespeople and you won�t have to invite them all to your home to do an estimate.

From anywhere on the site you can click on the �Post a Job� tab at the top of the page.

1. Job title
You�ll first be prompted to write a clear and descriptive job title, using at least 3 words.

Example: "Paint a one-bedroom flat in London".

2. Job description
Thereafter, you�ll need to write a description of the job at hand. The more detailed you are in your description the easier it is for tradesmen and builders to submit an accurate quote. Try to include the following details in your description:

�  Sizes and Dimensions (approx. or exact)
�  When do you want the job done?
�  Any specific skills required?
�  Do you supply the material or should the tradesman bring them?

At this stage you can also upload a photo showing the work that needs to be done, if you have one available. Pictures speak volumes and will help the tradesman determine whether or not you�ll need any special services.

Example: When you request a quote for a paint job, you should be very specific about the number of rooms you need to have painted, the surface area of each room, and whether or not you have any specific requirements for the type or color of paint to be used. You�ll also need to specify whether or not you are going to supply the materials or if the tradesman you choose will need to bring his/her own.

3. Job type
Next, you will be asked to choose the job type that describes the home improvement job you need completed.

Example: For our example you�d choose �Painting, Staining & Varnishing.�

4. Location
In the next step, please enter the Post Code where the work needs doing. It is required to determine the tradesmen that live in your local area. Your full post code will not be displayed publicly!

5. E-Mail Address
You will then be prompted to either create an account or login to your existing account (if you aren�t logged in already.

To submit your quote request, simply finish by clicking on the "Post Your Job" button. Thereafter, you can sit back and wait for quotes to come in from local tradesmen. Your listing will stay live on our system for 20 days.
