There is nothing quite as ugly in a study, lounge or bedroom as adaptors and extension leads because one has run out of 
wall sockets. If you are tired of looking at the result of all this bad planning you could fix it fairly easily, although you please must Find an Electrician to Help You for safety’s sake. Also, please make sure that you notify the Council of the modification in order not to inadvertently affect your insurance cover.
o Decide which wall socket you wish to double up on. Turn off the electricity and check that the socket is definitely dead. Take off the cover plate, loosen off the switch itself and determine from which direction the power cable comes. Select any other side for the position of the extra socket. Mark out where you must make the recess into which it will fit, and make the hole.

Position the new box next to the old one and hold it in position with battens (dry wall) or plaster (brick wall). Bolt the two boxes together for extra strength where possible. When firmly in position wire across from the old socket to the new socket – live to live, neutral to neutral and earth to earth. Use the same colour conventions and thicknesses of wire too.
o Fit both sets of switches into their boxes, attach the cover plates and hey presto the job is done, although you really must get an Electrician Quote to remain legal.
This is one of the simplest and most rewarding jobs you could do around the home. Remember though that you may not increase the total load of the original socket outlet. If in any doubt consult an expert such as an Electrician in London. Fail to do this, and you could be gambling with your future.
